Requiasit in Pacem

Gulf War II claims its first casualties, though it's unclear whether it was from enemy fire, or simply an accident. Meanwhile, more and more people seem to think that Sadaam was in that bunker, and Iraq may fall almost painlessly, for us and them. I don't want to predict such a thing -- but I can hope, can't I?

Sun Tzu says that "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."

I don't think we'll get that lucky, but I do believe that we will overwhelm the enemy rather easily unless they pull off some despearte act like using chemical, biological or (God forbid) nuclear weapons.

If we did get Saddamm that quickly, how will that affect the Iraqi command structure? Who will take the reigns? Is it someone we can work with or an even crazier SOB?

This will prove to be an interesting wekend. I may even tape the Oscars this year just for the historical (and hysterical) value.

Well, actually, it's "Requiescat in pace". Why not just say "Rest in Peace" if you don't know the language? It's not a comedy language, like French....

I believe this was ruled an weather-related accident several hours prior to this post.
