Okay, whether or not you're a fan, this Dennis Miller bit on John Kerry is even funnier than "Shrub":

I knew Kerry was going to have to run for president because his features are so chiseled, his actual skull could be on Mt. Rushmore. The guy looks like an Easter Island statue in a power tie.

This brought out the faint ghost of a grin, which is more than Miller is usually able to do for me. Sure, he talks pretty good sense about politics for a show-business type, but his appeal as a comedian has always been an absolute mystery to me.

Any fool who chooses to remain a Senator for more than two or three terms is nearly guaranteed to become a caricature; the institution is a vector for mindless pomposity. Congressmen are subjected to some of this danger, but having to run every two years, and the larger House's anonimity, provides some immunity.
