After two years of the proverbial "blogging from her parents basement", I've finally found a new home, into which I will be moving on October 1. I will finally be leaving the Upper West Side for the wilds of . . . Park Slope.

Congrats Megan, but doesn't this mean a longer walk in the next blackout?
OK, that's cleared up. Now will you tell us where you've hidden Mindles?
Actually, now that I've thought about it I want to know when the housewarming party is going to be...
What happened to the Foreign Service? Or is this a consular posting?
Jane hasn't said anything more about the Foreign Service, and I respect her privacy. If I were to guess I'd say they just took too long. A friend of mine from high school passed her exams the same day Jane did, and she's just this month finally getting officially hired and moving to Washington for training. Jane's had her new job for a while now.
Congratulations. There's no place like home.
Now where the heck is this Park thingy?

You're in my youngest daughter's neighborhood now. Lots of hippies, should be fun.
Lots of lesbians too. Maybe the question should be, who's the lucky girl?
The Slope's a great neigborhood. Used to live on St. John's.

What happened to Mindles
Welcome to the neighborhood. Let me know if you need any orientating. And don't forget to change your nycbloggers listing!
I know some people who picked up a Park Slope brownstone back in the seventies for thirty grand. Wish my parents had done the same.
Welcome to the outer boroughs! Goodbye, "Sex in the City," hello Archie Bunker ;)
(What's sad is, a house like Archie's, in his old neighborhood, is worth a quarter of a million dollars now).
What's the Park Slope equivalent of Zabar's?
Congrats on the Slope thing. The Park Slope Food Co-op is the PS equivalent of Zabar's, Seb.
Good luck with service on the F train getting to and from Manhattan (and beware the million-step transfer at Fourth Ave. if you try to switch to the Broadway line there).
