Over fifteen years ago Playboy actually ran an article on this topic, predicting just this result (I actually read it on deployment - I was single then, it was for the articles, really).

One of the runners mentioned in the article was just nabbed for performance enhancing drugs.

When the average "joe" starts taking these "drugs" it will be no big thing.

Imagine the horror when we can cause reproductive organs to grow.
(you know what I mean)

I'm interested in the military implications of this stuff. I guess steroids haven't recieved massive use in the military, in part, because they tend to make people mentally unstable. Other doping drugs seem to have other health effects. The interesting part about this stuff is that seems to be relatively low risk. The next question that the article raised is how effectively we can strengthen bone. This is another area where research on osteoporosis might pan out.

I guess I'll just have to poke around and see what I can find.
