New Mexico is reopening the case of Billy the Kid. They'll use DNA evidence to find out if it was really the Kid that Pat Garrett shot in the 1880's, or an imposter. What was that they used to say about letting the dead past bury its dead?

Is the State of New Mexico concerned that it should still be continuing the manhunt? Puhleze!
In deferrence to our tall, slim, gorgeous and brilliant yet pseudonomous hostess, New Mexico would arguably make better use of the funds doing DNA testing on inmates sentenced to life in prison or death, rather than playing "Cold Case Files" regarding someone who is certainly dead today, regardless of whether Pat Garrett shot him.
It is exercises like this that prove, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that government officials are spendthrifts with little concept of priorities and little concept of the human cost to their constituents of the taxes they extract to fund such silliness.
Will it be a Television Special with Geraldo?
As a New Mexico resident I was sincerely hoping no outsiders would catch wind of this riduculous waste of time, energy and money. It wont increase tourism, it wont even prompt the reprinting of very many text books, and I sincerely doubt Garrett's heirs would like to discover that he didn't do it......
Good thing you haven't uncovered the scandalous use of taxpayer money on unpopular public art here in Albuquerque.
So when's Eliot Spitzer going to open the inquest in re who's really buried in Grant's tomb?
