Omar has some very normal looking pictures from Baghdad and observes that the market for construction materials is tight.

Wouldn't it be great if our forces there weren't so threatened they have live in isolated compounds?
We can only hope.
Yes, it would be good for one city in the Middle East - outside Israel - to be normal, with a democratic government and a functioning capitalist economy. Maybe when Baghdad is totally normalized, after decades of darkness and rivers of blood, Cairo, Amman, Damascus, Tehran, Riyadh, Tripoli, Khartoum, Beirut, Algiers, Tunis and the others will finally have a chance for peace and prosperity.
The United States has neither the right nor the ability to "normalize" the Muslim countries of the Middle East. And calling Israel "normal" is quite a stretch.

You are indirectly stating the unofficial position of the Democrat Party. It is hostile towards Israel. As for our desire to “normalize” the Muslim countries---we are merely encouraging the majority moderates to marginalize the nihilistic minorities. Are you saying that women should be forced to remain second class citizens, the reactionary males should continue to dominate the culture? Lastly, how does this slight revision sound?:
“The United States has neither the right nor the ability to "normalize" the Nazi country of Germany. Those white males who run that nation should be left alone to commit further outrages. Who are we to assert that our culture is superior?”
