Personal notes

Thanks so much to everyone who sent condolences. I want to get personal responses out, but I leave for the funeral tomorrow, and I have to get everything at work in order before I go. Please know how much I appreciated the kind words and prayers.

On a related note, I have somehow lost all the email that was sent to me between 4AM on Saturday and 6 am Monday morning. If you sent me an email on Saturday or Sunday at my "janegalt -at- janegalt" address, please send it again, as I never saw it.

I remember you posting not long ago about your grandfather. He was certainly a wonderful man.

The post made me think of my grandfather who passed last year, not that he had much in common with your grandfather, other than he loved us, and we love him, and he can never be replaced. We all miss him, but we feel so lucky to have had him with us as long as we did.

My deepest sympathies on your loss.

Yes, I too remember your post about your grandfather, and was much moved by your eloquent

I would also like to express my condolences to you and your family, at this time of sorrow after the death of your grandfather. I read your eulogy for him, when you posted it a few days ago, and it was a fine piece of writing for a fine gentleman.

Perhaps this is also the time to congratulate you on the quality of this blog, which I have been reading since shortly after 9/11. Yours is one of the very best blogs on the net, and I say this as a reader of at least a couple of dozen blogs every day. Anyway, keep up the good work; it is not so important that you entertain us, although you do that so very well, but that you intelligently inform is, which is very important.

My condolences also. Losing a loved one is always difficult. I hope that the act of writing your prior post about him was as helpful to you now as it was moving to read then.
