Reduced blogging

What a week it's been! Laid low by horrible flu just as I was supposed to be getting ready for an extended stay in London, where I'm taking up a new job.

I'm recovered now, and flying out tonight. Blogging will be nonexistant for a while, as I haven't yet got broadband at my new home (God bless British Telecom), and I'm going to be very busy with my new gig.l

Tally ho, and all that rot. Hopefully I'll be back by the weekend.

If you can, don't get BT broadband. Get cable.

Trust me, I've been there.

Cheerio. Or ta, or whatever. Incidentally, did you know that "keep a stiff upper lip" is a nineteenth century Americanism?

Congratulations on the new job! Hope you're getting in pounds what you used to get in dollars!

But what about Finn? Who will care for him?

Glad you're better. did chicken soup help?

Best of British luck to you!

Good luck. Could you also tell Prince Charles and Camilla that I'm sorry about missing their wedding? I’ve been too busy assisting President Bush in conquering the world. England used to take care of such matters, but now it’s in our laps.

Remember, if someone asks to see your pants and/or suspenders, you're allowed to slap them.
And just because someone tells you that they're going out for a fag, it doesn't mean they're gay.

Good luck in merry olde england!

My wife works for BT in Global Ops. Wish I could tell you different, but dealing with them domestically in the U.K. is just as frustrating as dealing with cable/telecom companies here in the U.S.

Hope you've sacked away some coin though. If a purchase costs you a dollar here it will cost you a pound there and currently the pound is $1.91. Ouch!

Oh well, admission to the V&A is still free.

Umm...I use bloglines to alert me of new posts, and the SUV post of Feb 23 never disappears. It is unique among many posts on many blogs. I don't know if it is your problem, bloglines problem, my problem, or nobody's problem and just a curiosity.
After three weeks I thought I would mention it.

Jane: Best of luck in your new position! And, please get back online quickly, we miss you!

Everybody else: If you need something to read while Jane is off-line, come here. Yes, that's a shameless bleg, but if Jane can bleg every now and then, why can't I? ;-)

Relatives in London tell me good things about Wanadoo's broadband service--www.wanadoo.co.uk (if you are okay working with a subsidiary of France Telecom).

Man, you never tell us anything, do you?

Or did I miss the "hey, I'm moving to England" notice?

Best o' luck.

You will love living in London. Its just fantastic...

A few weeks ago she asked us if we knew how to find a sublet in London, so this does not come entirely as a shock.

Posted by: Jane Galt on March 17, 2005 6:00 AM

I'm not exactly moving here; I'm only over for three months.

Eat enough Fish 'n Chips with malt vinegar and brown sauce for the whole lot of us. When you can actually find it, the stuff is just too bloody expensive over here...
