silhouette3.JPG From the desk of Mindles H. Dreck:

To Londoners and all Britons

I interrupt the blogging-at-work ban simply to say to my family, friends and everyone in the U.K.

"Whither thou goest I will go, and whither thou lodgest I will lodge. Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God. Even to the end."

[DRECK RESPONDS: I'll leave this up as a totem for idiots everywhere. Here is your leader.]

God. It's always God. God caused the blasts and God will save us from terrorists.
Give me a friggin' break. Your 'God' is no better than 'their God'.
Read a book and stop believing in science fiction.

"John" probably thinks Jerry Falwell or Karl Rove came up with that one.

To the original post:

Amen.

Amen indeed.

To the people of the UK from the US:

Whatever you need, you got it.

I'm an atheist and that's a beautiful quote.

Good luck and godspeed, Londoners, we yanks are with you.

Wow. From the Book of Ruth. I don't think I've ever heard a quote or a reading from the Book of Ruth.

It deeply saddens me to be writing this. To each of the victims of this attack, each member of their families, their friends and their colleagues. I will not forget.

Poor John. To be so bent that his anger falls on those who reach out to victims. The rest of us are in this together. For those so inclined, God bless. For those who are not, solace and comfort from our common humanity.

On a more recent citation, for all of the allies in the war on terror, Now is not the time to go wobbly.
Hit back, and hit back hard.

Stout hearts, Britons.
Godspeed.

John, you're a moron. It's ironic you told Mindles to "read a book", since you seem to have no reading comprehension whatsoever. He was expressing sympathy for the victims and solidarity with the U.K. on this sad day. I'm an athiest, and the quote he chose resonated with me.

Nowhere did he say that "God caused the blasts and God will save us from the terrorists". Nowhere did he say that "his God" (if he has one) is better than "their God". In fact, he didn't say anything about Islam at all. This quote would have been perfectly apropos no matter where the terrorists came from or what they believed.

Well said Mindles. Godspeed to Great Britain. I hope we will all soon wake up and see what attack we are under.

What is this God bullshit ? I thought this was an Objectivist blog,

Posted by: Logical Reasoning Fairy on July 12, 2005 4:28 AM

Why? Do you think that all libertarian-oriented thinkers are a monolithic block of reactionary God-allergists?

Back into your objectivist cage! Back!
