Can anyone enlighten me, a non-American, as to why it absolutely has to be turkey? Can't one give thanks with some crispy duck or a succulent lamb roast? You can only stand so much turkey.

Jane, thank you for putting this post up again. I remember it from last year and was looking forward to once again seeing this post of simple and wonderful Thanksgiving recipies. Other than the fact that I use evaporated milk instead of whole milk, my pumpkin pie recipe looks almost exactly like yours.

Oh, and I guarantee you that my pumpkin cheesecake recipe is the best. Accept no substitutes.
