In which I bow to greatness

Jim Henley is the zen master of blogging. I am selling my possessions, moving to Washington, and shaving my head in the hopes that after several years of squatting on his doorstep, he will take me on as his disciple.

You'd look pretty hot with a shaved head. But that squatting on my doorstep business sounds unhygienic. (Thanks much for link, though! And of course the comments are the point, not the post.)

The students only reflect the magnificence of the master.

Are we still talking about the hygiene issue?

Friends don't let friends shave and squat.

Learned that the hard way.

Comment expressing surprise and disdain at Jane's use of English spelling.

Paul, I don't see it. Please enlighten. And may I just point out that a certain slackness with the participle rather implies that it was Jim who was squatting?

Comment expressing deep admiration and jealousy for clever commenters here, there, and everywhere else. Clever little bastards.

Comment adding nothing in particular but managing to address Mindles as "Jane" in the process.

Ironic self-referential meta-statement of the sort made popular by the movie Schizopolis, which includes knowing pop cultural meta-reference to the same.

Look out, good patriots! Arm yourselves! The Memes are coming! The Memes are coming!

Comment pointing out that Jane has three cousins and a sister in the DC area who will no doubt be expected to 1) bring food; and 2) work as a placeholder and take Jane's place genuflecting so she can go off to the bathroom.

Attempt at inteligent, witty comment with vague hope that it will be so well-recieved it will inspire Jane to contact the poster and make plans to meet for drinks but which contains such egreegious misspellings that even if there had been any theoretical chance of such contact, there was, in fact, no chance at all, and which is surprisingly not follow-uped with a corrective post, even though poster notices one of the errors while basking in the glow of his now-published wit, because he quickly and defensively rationalizes that Jane probably is fat like James said.

Apology for being off-topic followed by link to unrelated and boring political story.

Comment attempting to redefine previous poster's comment to fit ownself's cultural world view.

Ps: snarky assertion that differing political viewpoint from own is a result of sexual relations with close relatives. Vis-a-vie, Blue vs. Red

Observation that while Henley has a trenchant wit, he has a talent for getting substantial matters wrong. Which fact makes him more like the President than he suspects.

Shameless copy of the joke made in Comment 393 on the linked post on the basis that noone is really going to read that far back now.
