I tried to upgrade our Movable Type installation to 3.3, but something is desperately wrong:
Also, I tried to install CloudNine, which isn't working either.
Can anyone help this MT moron?

Make sure you overwrite all the static content. (MT has a script file, some CSS, some images, etc.)
And then hit refresh a few times. (Try holding Shift while you do it.)
The new interface looks better.
You use movable type? How do you prevent spam so well while also allowing people's posts to show immediately? I get a ton.
Jane, you may have the old stylesheet and javascript files cached in your browser. Try deleting your cache, and the new hotness may now appear.
Ryan, there's Akismet for MT. Unfortunatelly it's broken for 3.31
The default stuff in MT, SpamLookup does a decent job.
I suggest canning stumbleupon and pricefollower, switching to XP Classic view, no longer grouping taskbar icons, enabling quicklaunch, and doubling the height of the taskbar.
It won't solve your MT problem, but it may reduce any suicidal impulses you have while working with that infernal setup.

Or, you might consider cutting the umbilical cord to MSFT, altogether, and ash-canning XP, in favor of Ubuntu Linux distro.

They always come out on the warm days...
anony-mouse,
You, moreso than many, would benefit from adhering to the old adage: "Best to remain silent and have them think you're a Fool, then to speak and remove all doubt"
try the link, below, to get an idea of how widespread Linux really is.

Mark, have you ever stopped to ask yourself, "How come, unless the host is a known software enthusiast, I never get invited to parties?"
I've experimented with several Linux distros for curiosity's sake, including some of the 'simplified' models, and will probably do so again when the mood strikes. One of my close friends is an engineer with strong software skills but very little programming background; he started from scratch and finally gained a working mastery of Gentoo. Conclusions? Linux is fine if your software and hardware needs are very minimal, or if your OS is your hobby.
Meanwhile, someone who has other irksome software issues to deal with doesn't need an evangelical Linux quip-trader to show up out of the blue and spout the usual foolishness. Or, since you evidently prefer the aphoristic flourish, take this adage for a test drive: The skunk is the last one to notice the smell.

Judging by your statement of your friend's erroneous "conclusion(s)", it comes as little surprise you two hang-out together.

Come on, Mark, you have all day. Work harder.
