Malcolm Gladwell doesn't hate me any more.
Meanwhile, one of his commenters has this to say:
My god, why are so many people here expecting this man to behave like he is Gandhi! Simply put, Galt was nasty about it and got a well deserved spanking (and it wasn't so hard that he left a welt!)
I can't shake the feeling that I've stumbled onto somebody's secret fantasy life . . .

C'mon, no need for the self-affirmatory sock-puppeting....
Since I waxed a little sarcastic about the earlier post, I'll take the opportunity to make nice. Gladwell is much more interesting to read when he displays a little insight and introspection. Sarcasm and heavy mockery work for Mark Twain and PJ O'Rourke, and basically nobody else.

If there is one thing that I've learned in life, or at least politics, it is that instead of getting angry, you should resolve to read five new books on the subject. You may modify or reject your initial opinion, or you may refute the original evidence. Either way, you are better off.
