Just came across this from my early days of blogging. Hope that will tide over readers while I bury myself in work.

You mean there is a Bennifer II? Yikes!
Posted by: Yancey Ward on October 26, 2006 1:40 PMToo bad you couldn't find that post where you said that if it turned out Bush was lying to get us to invade Iraq there would be "hell to pay". You're sure doing a good job of holding his feet to the fire on that one, Jane.

My heartiest congratulations on the best Bush-whacking non sequitur of the day -- so far. Bennifer to "Bush lied!" Wow.
I've got a stack of People magazines at home if you'd like more practice ...
Posted by: Valjean on October 26, 2006 2:12 PMHey purple, who kicked your dog this morning and then said it still looked better than you? Smile once in a while.
Back on topic: Jane -- I don't think that post qualifies as your 'early' days of blogging. Something more like this might be in order:

Every six months or so I go back and re-read that page and it kills me every time. The experience is somewhat like Lileks' "Notes from the Olive Garden" -- you're still wonderful, but back then you may have peaked at a level that will never be seen again.
Posted by: anony-mouse on October 26, 2006 2:15 PMShort, pithy, raw, but a shadow of things to come. Sort of like putting "Love Me Do" on a Beatles greatest hits album.
