A great loss indeed. What a great man he was, and what a tremendous contribution he has left behind.

Fortunately, his ideas and writing live on.

Back in my college days, I asked David Friedman what dinner conversations were like growing up in that household. I mean, he had two phenomenally brilliant parents, surely the occasional if not regular highly influential (or influenceable) guests, you'd think a kid could soak up a lot of ideas just growing up in that sphere. He said something like, "pretty typical, really".
