A friend demands to know why I haven't blogged my laptop case, which is possibly the only attractive laptop case for women in existence. Carrie, this one's for you.

I think my laptop is worth about that much. I hope that there wears well over time, like good luggage should.
Posted by: anony-mouse on March 3, 2007 11:31 PMWow, you actually have to hold it in your hand? I just put my laptop in a messenger bag, sling it over my shoulder. Then my skeleton carries the weight and not my muscles. Far more efficient.

Posted by: connie on March 4, 2007 8:34 PMHmm. I guess nobody's ever pointed out to you the Louis Vuitton laptop cases? If Of course, when the bag is worth more than the laptop, something is askew...
Posted by: T on March 5, 2007 10:58 AMI use an old gym bag.
Waterproofing is achieved by wrapping the laptop in a clear plastic bag that my dry cleaner thoughtfully draped around my coat the last time it started to get smelly and had to be cleaned. (About three years ago now.) The bag is so large that I can open the laptop and type away at the keys without exposing the delicate electronic beast to the elements.
The bag is sealed with a huge rubber band that I found attached to the shreds of a punctured balloon that came to rest in the tree in my front yard. It seems that a schoolboy in Indiana launched the tiny non-rigid airship as part of a class project. I sent a nice letter to the boy and let him know how far the balloon traveled, but the rubber band is MINE!
The laptop is carried in an old gym bag that was left behind by my last roommate, a fellow that I had taken into my home when he lost his job only to throw him out 6 months later for clogging the toilet at least daily. I protect the computer from shocks with a nest of towels that were retired after they started to unravel due to repeated washings.
Don't you have old stuff just laying around without a clear use? I don't understand why someone would spend a pretty penny for a bag that lets every thief know that there's something inside that is worth stealing.
Besides, I'm recycling! Didn't you blog about your new-found respect for environmental issues?
