The first post at the new Atlantic blog is up.
Update Yes, I know, I'm working on the switch back to American spelling. Give me a little time . . .

I am leaving you today
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye"
Exactly sums up my present feelings about Asymmetrical Information. Jane has tapped a seemingly bottomless source (pit, really) of staunchily left-wing commenters over there at Atlantic :(
Happy that you got another place to write, wish you to get another set of nice visitors. But Jane, I'm wondering whether you're going to write here further or not?

After about a year working at The Atlantic, Jane Galt will change her name to Jane Moncton Toohey! Go JANE!!!
Yeeks. I spent a little time over there this weekend reading the comments.
It was funny seeing how a lot of our group was worried that Megan was drifting too far to the left and now she is being vilified by the Atlantic's readers as the illegitimate love child of Ann Coulter and Karl Rove. It turns out that all she had to do to change her political standings was to start writing to a different audience.
I learned a lot. Anyone who lived through the 70s and felt that Jimmy Carter was a bumbling wang, it turns out you felt that way because you're a racist. Do you believe in smaller government and lower taxes? Yup. You're a racist. Face it, if you vote Republican at all, even if it is because the Democrats nominated a snobbish boob for president, you're a racist.
I'm not even going to tell you what it means if you happen to be a fan of Ronald Reagan.
{sigh} I know that if Megan were to start blogging over at Free Republic, the freepers would be all over her. Nastiness is just the nature of the beast that is the internet. Both political sides are ugly at the extremes.
I did have the hope that the readers of the Atlantic were above that. I would love to have the time to go over there and fight with them. Kudos to Falkolyn and the rest who are doing just that.
I agree with RF. It's ugly over there. I am most surprised at how vehement and personal they are.
Jane if you can see your way to keep posting on Asymmetrical Information, I promise we’ll quit picking on you for the British spelling ;)
Seriously though, I wonder if she’s contractually obligated to post at the Atlantic and had to agreed to put most or all of her blog posts at the Atlantic’s site rather than posting both there and here.
