Anyone who hasn't already looked at the question and voted yet, don't read this; it will be a spoiler.
The interesting thing is that I went for the "no amount enough" option, and upon seeing the results in descending bar-graph form, discovered a pretty neat-looking right triangle forming.
Personally, I enjoy coffee and tea and occassional wine, and I also like to cook -- the zestier the better. And I'm not really interested in giving up either. A fully subsidized life would be phenomenally boring after the first couple months.
Then again, the proposed price for cheating is to be instantly returned to your life as it is now, forfeiting all accumulated income and assets therefrom. I wonder how many people wouldn't mind accepting the offer for a year's worth of world-tour fling and then resuming daily life...
Posted by: anony-mouse on November 22, 2002 08:54 PMThis plays right into the hands of the "Vice Fund." http://www.vicefund.com
The fund targets gambling, tobacco, alcohol and defense industries. Further, they claim that the fund is recession proof.
My understanding is that since launching only a few months ago, its become one of the hottest funds available.

I can't believe the number of people who give up all their choices in these decisions for 100/500K.I suppose you could better understand those in the 1/10M range, but I still think if anyone actually chose it their decisions would be based on what they perceived they could provide their families etc rather than a willingness to let others dictate their decisions.
I chose the 100k option. Hell I would've chosen 10k if it was available. Aside from the occasional psychedelic, my life is already like that... bare bones food, no illicit substances, and I could easily give up my monthly mind trip for 100K a year.
Posted by: Russell on November 24, 2002 10:40 AMWell, with enough money, who needs booze or coffee?
I mean, I drink coffee in the morning so I can wake up in the morning to go on another stultifying day looking for work.
I drink booze at night to make me forget aforementioned day.
And I don't smoke (anything).
So it's a pretty easy choice for me. Give me a good income where I don't have to work except doing what I want (low budget porn) and I'm fine without the "naughty stuff."
And hell, with enough of that money, you can hire a damn cook to make you tasty, non-fried food (it does exist, I hear).
