Blogs just made the mainstream -- I just saw Michael Barone mention Andrew Sullivan, Josh Marshall, and Instapundit on the McLaughlin Group.

McLaughlin: What blogs do you read?

Eleanor Clift: I read Atrios.

Michael Barone: I read The Volokh Conspiracy.

Tony Blankley: I read Asymmetrical Information.

McLaughlin: Wrong. You all read Instapundit and Andrew Sullivan.

Did you notice how when Michael mentioned "blog" everyone else in the group acted like we was talking about this years "tickle me elmo".

It seemed like McLaughlin didn't know what he was talking about.

BTW, Patrick Ruffini, pol blogger extraordinaire, created Barone's website.

Andrew, Glenn and NRO were also prominently mentioned, along with "blogosphere" in The Economist article on Trent Lott (Christmas issue, p 25)

At least one Economist writer I know is also a blogger, so that's not too much of a surprise...
