Another elitist cry in the dark

Another stupid editorial in the New York Times today. First it claims that federalizing aviation security employees will help revive tourism (??), then this chestnut:

Americans are in no mood for tired, anti-Washington rhetoric at this time. What they want is for the federal government to aggressively ensure the safety of air travel.
Thank God we have the Times to speak for us. And is any of that "tired anti-Washington rhetoric" being voiced by postal employees after watching the dogs in the capitol get tested and treated before they did? Is it me, or does the Times sound sort of desperate in their attempt to be relevant and still hold true to their insular beliefs? I say most of America's in no mood to be spoken for by the elitist New York Times.

OK, so I'm a little aggravated. They endorsed McGreevey for Governor in the companion column. Could they just stick to endorsing Stalin-apologist Mark Green and leave fixing New Jersey's expensive and inadequate school system to those of us who actually live here?
