Cat. Bag. Out.

Attention, fellow members of the VRWC: Wil Wilkinson has betrayed us!:

The Kochs, Coors', Scaifes, and a few other plutocrats gather secretly in the immense inner sanctum (mounted heads of endangered species dot the redwood paneled walls) of their undetectable mountain escape (each attended, naturally, by his own eight year old, third world, hunchbacked, spiritually broken, manservant) and outline a unified strategy for political domination. They put the word out (through special encrypted satellite telephones) to their Machiavellian savant operatives, who forthwith erect institutions in Washington. These institutions hire raving ideologues whose task it is to create carefully crafted propaganda cleverly disguised as "research," which they then feed to their allies in the media (who slyly camouflage themselves by propagating a myth--through the devious use of "studies" and "polls"--that the media is overwhelmingly Democrat), who then disseminate this misinformation to the minds of Americans everywhere, thereby creating "conventional wisdom", false consciousness, and Republican majorities.

Damn! And world domination was just around the corner. On the bright side, now I can stop pretending to be a working stiff and start acting like the multi-billionaire influence-peddler that I am. The 12-year-old Sentra was nowhere near as satisfying as the Rolls, and the absence of my driver was really starting to get on my nerves.

I just found out that one of the slave laborers didn't use old growth redwood when we had the new Reagan/Meese wing added.

I've had him shot, and all of the offending timber is being ripped out to be replaced with genuine old growth timber.

It was an isolated incident. I did get confirmation that the chairs are the genuine pandaskin we specified.

Apparently someone had Will taken out and shot, because that post is over a month old.

I liked the comments, especially the one where someone demanded Will's exact coordinates on the left-right spectrum, presumably for handy denunciation purposes.

Hey, check out the page of links to articles and reports on the right wing, at the Commonweal Institute - the organization that Wilkinson writes about. http://www.commonwealinstitute.org/information.html

Hmmm, you think left wing conspiracy theories are wacky?

How about the one where thousands of scientists are pretending we face a global warming crisis so as to con governments into funding their research projects and protect their super-egos?

Credible surely?

Or the one where a bunch wacky left wing academics and feminazis are destroying free speech by outlawing certain ways of thinking.

Hang on, let me test that one right now: ALL NIGGERS SHOULD BE RETURNED TO AFRICA IMMEDIATELY, WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK AND WHITE PRIDE EDUCATION CLASSES MADE COMPULSORY.

I'll try and get word out when I get arrested.

Stewart,
There is a difference between a conspiracy, i.e., concerted action, and the uncoordinated actions of a host of dunces united by a common, twisted worldview. The Left accuses the Right of the former. The Right, at least in the instances you mention, accuses the Left of widespread idiocy resulting in multiple expressions of stupidity. The difference is significant.

...destroying free speech by outlawing certain ways of thinking.

Damn. Now they know what I'm thinking? I guess I can stop typing now.

Posted by: David Perron on January 23, 2003 10:53 AM

Tony,

Thats a convenient difference. And do you think global warming scientists don't cooperate to some degree? If global warming is a hoax, and thousands of scientists are promoting it, then it would suggest a degree of coordination and cooperation is required. Especially considering they have been successful in convincing so many people that the threat is real.

But if there is no coordination then they must have something else going for them. Like maybe the facts.

The thousands of "scientists" 'promoting' global warming are not climatologists. When a scientist is functioning outside his area of expertise - he is winging it just like all the rest of us.

On another note, Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

NARPH!

Actually Stewart, orthodoxy is self reinforcing. Look to the most astonishing scientific discoveries of the past, and more often than not, you wil find the establishment roundly rejects them with a vehemence usually reserved for heresy. The global warming thing is more of the same. A few data points suggest the planet is getting warmer (good data it seems but yes only a FEW, given that in order to truly understand global climate you need data from TENS OF MILLIONS of years) What the establishment would have us beleive is that MAN is resposible for the current shifts. What they fail to prove is that their data shows a significant change, which they cannot do without say another few thousand years of observation. What they wholely fail to prove is that man is indeed resposible for the presumed changes. To suggest that the scientific, or at least the environmental, establishment does not attack heretics demonstrates that you haven't read much of late.
