I'm about to reveal my shocking dweebiness, but these are too funny to pass up.

Posted by: Francis W. Porretto on February 9, 2003 03:04 PMThat's one frickin' hysterical site. The Hans Blix card is mine!
Posted by: Matthew on February 9, 2003 08:23 PMHere's to being outed as a square.
Even as a Bushie, Déja-Vu is damned priceless. [loserspeak] I only wish it weren't multicolor. I hate multicolor and I own neither colored-mana producing artifacts or dual lands. :-) [/loserspeak]
What's funny is that the early Magic craze that hit me and my friends way back in high school has simply been replaced by another collectible card game. The game itself is, presumably, still fun - but it's no longer a fresh novelty.
So how many of us have dust-covered, closet-relegated boxes filled with ever-depreciating Magic cards?
Posted by: Michael Ubaldi on February 9, 2003 10:21 PMI unloaded the bulk of my valuable cards on eBay four years ago. As it happens, though, quite a few that weren't even worth listing in sets back then are now worth a fair amount of money. Those cards probably aren't depreciating, Michael, especially any that are good for Type I. Those are extremely rare now; you'd do well to consider auctioning some of them off.
Posted by: Dodd on February 10, 2003 01:51 AMI'll admit to owning some worthy rares from Revised Edition (I collected 1994-1998), so I'll check that out. Thanks, Dodd!
Posted by: Michael Ubaldi on February 10, 2003 08:46 AMAha! So you are one of us. And you'd kept it hidden so well. I mean, unlike most blogheads, you'd never (unless I missed it) written lenghty posts on either comic book superheroes or Tolkien. One might almost have thought you were cool in highschool.
So how many MTG cards do you own, Megan? Enquiring dweebs want to know.
Posted by: CMN on February 10, 2003 09:44 PMI don't think they let you be a real computer engineer without learning how to play Magic. Perhaps this is the time I should also reveal I have Diablo characters in the mid-thirties. . .
But alas, I did not have a major deck. I learned to play with a cousin and a friend of his, and when he moved away, I stopped. I still have my cards, and every once in a while I take them out so I can look at them and sigh. Sigh.
