Remember, though, that a city which "never sleeps" never shuts up, either. The last time I was in the City was two years ago, in Astoria for my grandfather's funeral. The situation, of course, involved a certain amount of stress, and in searching for solitude - the middle of July, so windows were open in the middle of a place where two minutes don't go by without a horn honk - I realized I couldn't find any. Things became real claustrophobic real quick.
NYC's a great place to visit. Period. ;-)
