Anyone who has been sending me email to my Chicago account probably thinks I'm evil, because I haven't answered any of it in (ulp!) months.
You're wrong, though. I'm not evil. I'm stupid.
Although we use Groupwise at my job for business email, I had Outlook Express set up to monitor my hotmail, business school, and website accounts. Only then the nice people from IT came and upgraded my computer to Windows 2000. I love Windows 2000, and I've been enjoying my new machine greatly . . . except that I, er, forgot to set up Outlook Express to monitor my GSB account. No, I don't know why I forgot, or how it went this long. Obviously, if I had the sense God gave a rock, I wouldn't have done this . . . but somehow I forgot that I had forgotten. I have no explanation other than sheer idiocy.
Anyway, I've got it set up now, and I"m slooooooooooooooooooooooowly going through the backlog. We apologize for the inconvenience.

You are far too young to claim a "senior moment", as I do in such cases. Meanwhile, enjoy the backlog, Happy New Year and welcome back from your hiatus.
Posted by: Ed Reid on January 6, 2004 11:30 AMWhat about those of us who sent e-mails to other accounts? Shall we give up on the prospect of a reply?
*Sigh*
Posted by: Pejman Yousefzadeh on January 6, 2004 04:49 PMIf you sent it to my hotmail account, I've just recently been told that sending mail there is "like sending it into a black hole" because of the spam filters. Sigh. ;-)
As for you, Dr. Manhattan, you were one of the worst offended. Deepest apologies.
Posted by: Jane Galt on January 6, 2004 06:00 PMThen the Jane Galt account must be similarly black-holish.
And of course, we'll ignore the possibility that I might just not be the most interesting correspondent. ;-)
