Initially, I was inclined to suggest you buy a sense of humor, but it looks like a lot of the Insta-readers took it as more than a jokey self-caricature. Maybe I should have inserted a "heh".

I think it's a 50-50 proposition whether this misinterpretation is a result of me vastly mis-overestimating (heh) my ability to communicate humor or a function of the likelihood that Pubs don't have a sense of humor (heh). (Heh). But in the new spirit of outreach(heh), I'll assume the fault was mine. Most of the comment was a mild joke, on me as a "flaming lib Dem" commenter on this site- I was, in fact, caricaturing myself. I made it in response to what I took to be a self-caricature by Jane (the crying eyes bit). The only part that was at all serious was that I think this is a very good blog and I did vote for it.

Oh, please go back and read a "heh" into the text just after "buy a sense of humor". Thanks.

Just for the record, I've never thought of you as a flaming lib. You at least acknowledge most of the "facts" that are out there, even if we differ on the interpretation and hence have different opinions. For flaming libs on this site I would have to nominate Begbee.

It seems to me that these catagories are not mutually exclusive. Not that it makes me unhappy as I was able to vote for both Belmont Club in one and AI in the other.
