Headline of the Day

From the World Socialist website:

"To Fawning Applause from Canada's Elites, Bush Pledges to Wage Unending War".

I'm no socialist, but one can't help but be sickened by the warmongering Canadian elites, letting children starve in the streets as they build up their jackbooted armies, pouring money that could be funding health care into weapons research on their top secret ice guns programme. Kudoes to the WSWS to calling them out for their boot-licking alliance with the Bush administration.

Jane: Canada sleeps in the shade of the elephant. They have to walk a high wire in their relations with us (the USA)and they don't always like us but there you have it ! If they don't want to be near to us then they are free to move away. :)

The World Socialists are pointing fingers about waging unending war?

How long has this class war thing they're into been going on, now? 3,000 years or so?

I love the World Socialist Website, especially their movie reviews. Every review can basically be reduced to: this movie is bad because it doesn't recognize that true happiness can only be achieved through the overthrow of the capitalist system and the achievement of a truly socialist way of life.

The review of Saving Private Ryan is a classic -- the critic spends a significant part of it discussing Soviet troop strength and wondering why the soldiers in Tom Hanks' unit didn't talk more about the harsh contradictions of the capitalist system.

". . .pouring money that could be funding health care into weapons research on their top secret ice guns programme. . ."

Hah! Given how they're prouring money into an incredibly inefficient state run health care system that's making health care increasingly difficult to actually get, I would have figured that the WSWS would be applauding this move. They're probably getting more ROI on the "ice gun" program anyway but actually making money would be anti-socialist.

the article would be pretty funny except they mean it.
