Reminder! There's still time to vote.
My recipe for Citrus Cake has made the finals of the Epicurious October recipe contest. Needless to say, this is pretty exciting for me, and I'd love it if y'all would wander over there and toss a few votes my way.
In other news, we're slipping behind Club for Growth in the 2005 Weblog Awards. I told you before what will happen if I don't win. No one wants to see me cry, do you? Because I'm so fond of you.
It is perfectly legal to vote once every 24 hours in both contests, so vote early and often.

Good.
Posted by: RMc on December 10, 2005 10:23 PMI agree with jeffg, what's the point in sweating in the kitchen making those fancy cakes listed when Betty Crocker makes such delightful cakes (and brownies). As Henry David Thoreau would say :"Simplify!, simplify!".
Posted by: mark o on December 11, 2005 09:21 AMOh, no, there's simply no comparison between a homemade cake and one from a Betty Crocker box. Homemade cakes are light, delicate, and taste far better . . . and they take approximately five minutes more to make than a cake mix.
Posted by: Jane Galt on December 11, 2005 09:29 AMI agree with Jane. There is just no comparison. I made a pumpkin Cheesecake for Thanksgiving that was just to die for and my family's chocoloate fudge bithday cake is just about the best cake I've ever had. And there is nothing better than a real buttercream frosting. The crap you get in the can is much too sweet.
And Anony-mouse, don't bait the troll. ; )
Posted by: Kate on December 11, 2005 10:02 AMDaily reminders are working like a charm for Hit & Run in Best Group Blog! (So are massive emailings, apparently, perhaps to the entire Reason subscriber list?) Don't get beat by Club for Growth. Please.
(and this citrus cake better be good..i'm takin' your word for it!)

LOL! That's for rational people to decide; since you have recently proven yourself to be a hot-button idealist with a hatchet to grind (as in, "hatchet job"), kindly recuse yourself.
Posted by: anony-mouse on December 12, 2005 03:16 AM"vote early and often." OK. For you, I'll even act like a Chicago Democrat. ;-)
Posted by: markm on December 12, 2005 07:53 AMThe citrus cake recipe looked good, so I voted for it. I think we should all get samples of all the recipes before we have to vote! :)
Posted by: Rex on December 12, 2005 12:02 PMI voted, but it looks like everything falls behind the all-American apple flavor -- even chocolate. Does it mean anything?
