I could have had a job with Ready Pac Produce of Pasadena back in 1980. Organized by a Phd in Economics (one of his advisers on his dissertation being Milton Friedman) from his Armenian immigrant family's roadstand vegetable operation as a profit sharing company, it's now a multi-billion dollar operation.
Had I been able to live on the meager salary then, I'd be a lot richer today. Alas. There turned out to be a lot of green in those vegetables.
